Leading European aparthotel operator Staycity Group this week opens the doors to its latest Wilde, the first property to feature its redesigned logo and branding and with a fresh look to its ground floor interiors heralding a new design approach for the premium brand.
The 106-apartment Wilde, London, Liverpool Street, in London’s former historic Petticoat Lane, features a structured ground floor with lobby, bar and communal space where guests can gather, work and eat and drink. The interior makes use of artworks, crafts and ceramics created by London-based artists complementing its warm tones, while hand-crafted tiles, traditional Crittall screens, creative lighting and character furniture give the space a retro-lifestyle vibe.
An impressive curved feature bar decorated with handmade terracotta tiles, created by O’Donnell O’Neill Design, takes centre stage on the ground floor. The bar, open to guests and non-residents, showcases stylishly served artisan gins, locally brewed beers and biodynamic wines as well as a full range of alcohol-free options.
An extended food and beverage offering is open for à la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner with menus using locally sourced ingredients. Choices for breakfast include wedges of toasted banana bread, granola and frittata, with snacks and platters of cheese and charcuterie available throughout the day alongside big-flavoured dishes such as slow-cooked beef chilli, cauliflower butter masala and pie, mash & liquor.
The ground floor also has a coffee shop with barista-made coffee made with beans from UK specialty roaster Workshop Coffee and a self-service shop selling gourmet meal bundles and artisan snacks. Guests can pre-order food and drink to stock the fridge in their apartment.
“We are very excited to open in Liverpool Street and to unveil the new direction for Wilde, which takes its design cues from the locality and the history of the East End. Our stunning artworks, and around 70% of our food and drink, are sourced from the best of local suppliers and artists, who we’re keen to support and celebrate,” commented Kelly Morgan, managing director, Wilde Aparthotels.
Wilde London Liverpool Street is a five-minute walk to Liverpool Street Station with access to the Elizabeth Line and just 10 minutes from the popular Spitalfields and Shoreditch areas. The aparthotel offers 11 room types including one-bed executive apartments, the Wilde Residence – a one bed studio sleeping up to four guests with private balcony and terrace, and Wilde Retreat, a studio with private balcony and terrace, sleeping one or two people.
Apartments with balconies and the two with terraces on the sixth floor overlook the stunning London skyline. The property has six accessible rooms. All apartments have fully fitted kitchens with space to dine, relax or work.
The two-year project, by the property’s owner real estate investment company Glenwell Group, involved converting and extending the existing building. Staycity managed the fit-out of the front of house area. Adam Lowenthal of Saxbury represented Glenwell Group.
The property is Staycity Group’s fourth Wilde in London alongside Aldgate, Covent Garden and Paddington. Wilde also operates in Berlin, Edinburgh and Manchester with further sites due to open in Cambridge, Oxford, Lisbon and Porto. http://www.wilde.com
