IHG Hotels & Resorts has introduced its Vignette Collection brand to Vietnam as Moire Hoi An joins the fast-growing family of one-of-a-kind hotels in destinations to remember.

Poised along the tranquil banks of the Hoai River, the 128-key Moire Hoi An resort presents an intimate collection of 128 guestrooms and suites, overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hoi An’s ancient town.

Philip Beriman, General Manager at Moire Hoi An, Vignette Collection said: “We are thrilled to bring the Vignette Collection brand to Vietnam for the first time. Our intention with Moire Hoi An is to create a destination hotel offering guests diverse programming that is culturally on point, as well as an engaging and meaningful stay experience, all year round. Our vision has been to craft a distinctive sanctuary, where the nostalgic charm of Hoi An’s rich history gracefully intertwines with the contemporary luxury, allowing all guests to enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind stay,”

The name ‘Moire’ borrows from the term used to describe the rippled or wave pattern from scrunched silk. This evokes the notion of Moire Hoi An being a meeting point at the threshold of the ancient town, where mythical tales converge with modern tales. Here, guests are transported into a realm where past and present coalesce, and the whispers of yesteryears and the gentle hum of modernity intertwine to create a bastion of contemporary luxury hospitality.

This notion of fluidity and movement, akin to the river upon which Moire Hoi An sits, continues in the rippling patterns of moirệ fabric featured throughout the hotel’s design. In every detail, from the ornate furnishings to the meticulously curated artwork, the spirit of Vietnam’s storied past gracefully intertwines with the vibrancy of contemporary luxury, serving as a reminder of the enchanting journey that awaits guests.

Vignette Collection combines each property’s individual identity with the brand’s collective vision to offer a more authentic travel experience. Each property is unique, yet united through key hallmarks Memorable Rituals and ‘A Means For Good’.

Memorable Rituals – bespoke to each Vignette Collection property – connect guests with the hotel’s unique identity, locality, and cultural landscape. Guests of Moire Hoi An are invited to embark on a sensory journey through the rich history and bold flavours of Vietnamese coffee. Hosted daily at The Yellow Bicycle, guests are introduced to Vietnamese beans and brewing methods such as the traditional Phin filter, preparing the famous Vietnamese egg coffee, and the cultural significance of Ca Phe Sua Da iced coffee.

True to Moire Hoi An’s belief that every journey begins with a map, not just of places, but stories, the hotel is developing a visual and audio guide to the town in partnership with local creatives. This additional Memorable Ritual will also be added to the guest experience in 2025.

Means For Good initiatives weaved throughout all Vignette Collection properties represent each hotel’s commitment to responsibility, community engagement, and local culture. With a commitment to tailoring initiatives to suit the unique character of each hotel, they partner with non-profit organizations to contribute positively to the local ecosystem.

Moire Hoi An affirms its commitment to nurturing goodwill and preserving the vibrant arts of Hoi An and Cham through its partnership with a local primary school. This partnership sees guests of the hotel invited to purchase supplies with proceeds going to support art competitions and classes to enrich the student’s education and promote the preservation of local culture for future generations.

The resort boasts three restaurants and bar including The Yellow Bicycle, a modern Vietnamese deli, and Ember & Sip, a spin on the concept of American backyard barbeque with Asian flavours. Breathe Spa blends the wisdom of Eastern traditions with the innovation of Western therapies, with signature treatments including rejuvenating reflexology, enhanced with aromatic oils and herbs. The hotel’s infinity-edge swimming pool overlooks the Hoai River, providing the perfect serene spot to observe the passing boats.

Just three years after the brand’s introduction, Vignette Collection has surpassed the halfway point in its initial aim to reach 100 open and pipeline hotels in 10 years. Today, there are 19 Vignette Collection hotels open around the world with a further 34 in the pipeline* that will mark brand debuts in markets such as Japan and Maldives.
