Hilton has launched a world-first with the introduction of the Hilton Honors Debit Card and Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card in the UK, in partnership with Currensea.
These debit cards allow cardholders to earn Hilton Honors Points on everyday purchases, which can be redeemed for hotel stays or exclusive experiences at Hilton properties globally.
The Hilton Honors Debit Card offers Silver Status, while the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card upgrades users to Gold Status, which includes benefits such as free continental breakfasts, complimentary WiFi, and potential room upgrades. Both cards utilise open banking technology, enabling seamless integration with existing bank accounts and eliminating foreign exchange fees typically charged by banks when spending abroad.
Heather Laverne, vice president at Hilton, described the cards as a “game-changer” for Hilton Honors members, offering significant travel benefits and allowing travellers to save on overseas transactions. James Lynn, co-founder of Currensea, added that the partnership provides Hilton Honors members with access to the best foreign exchange rates, further enhancing the value of the new debit cards.
