British Airways is to restart scheduled services from London Stansted airport next summer for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.
The UK carrier’s BA Cityflyer short-haul subsidiary will fly from Stansted to Florence, Ibiza and Nice from 18 May 2024. All three routes will operate once per week with departures from Stansted on Sundays and return flights on Saturdays.
BA Cityflyer already operates services from London City airport to 30 destinations and will use Embraer 190 aircraft on its new Stansted routes. The carrier will offer both economy and Club Europe business class cabins on the new services.
Reintroducing services from Stansted means that BA will return to operating from four London airports in 2024, including its main hub at Heathrow.
The airline has also announced a new route from London Gatwick to Agadir in Morocco next year. The service will start on 31 March 2024 and will initially operate three times per week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with an extra service on Saturdays from 25 May. It will be BA’s second Moroccan destination as the carrier already flies to Marrakech.
