The iconic Brig o’ Doon House Hotel is poised to open its doors once again on May 1, following an extensive £2.5 million refurbishment.

Known as Scotland’s most romantic hotel, this four-star property has undergone a stunning transformation while maintaining its historic charm.

First built in 1829, the hotel now boasts 14 elegant bedrooms, including eight river suites with breath taking views of the River Doon. Guests can also enjoy newly introduced executive bedrooms and garden suites, complete with private balconies, marrying timeless heritage with modern luxury.

The revamp includes an enhanced function suite and a brand-new wraparound outdoor terrace, perfect for weddings and special events. Designed by Lucid Interiors, the renovation combines bespoke interiors with a high-end finish, offering guests a truly premium experience.

Owners Robert and Vivien Kyle are thrilled with the results. “Brig o’ Doon has long been a dream destination for couples and guests seeking fairy tale weddings and unforgettable events,” said Vivien Kyle. “This transformation marks an exciting new chapter for the hotel, enhancing its timeless charm while ensuring the highest level of comfort and luxury. Whether celebrating a wedding or enjoying a peaceful escape, our guests can now immerse themselves in the beauty of Brig o’ Doon like never before.”

Brig o’ Doon’s revitalised offerings are expected to cement its reputation as a premier venue for romantic getaways, weddings, and corporate retreats. Business travellers and event planners alike will appreciate the hotel’s enhanced facilities, set against the stunning backdrop of Ayrshire’s countryside.
