New data reveals where to indulge before the baby arrives and who’s planning the most trips

The babymoon—a pre-baby getaway for expecting parents—is set to become an increasingly popular trend in 2025. “This special vacation allows couples to relax and reconnect before their lives are transformed by parenthood,” says Annalisa Thomas, founder of Oilo Studio, a luxury brand specialising in nursery furniture, bedding, and baby essentials.

With spring and summer 2025 just around the corner, now is the perfect time for expecting parents to plan the ideal babymoon. That’s why Annalisa and the team at Oilo Studio have conducted a study to reveal the world’s most luxurious babymoon destinations, based on five key factors (luxury and comfort, health services, tourism density, security, and cost). They have also used search trend insight to reveal the countries most interested in this growing travel phenomenon.

Below, Annalisa discusses the top babymoon destinations ranked by their Luxury Index score and why certain countries are so interested in this trend.

Top Most Luxurious Destinations For Babymoons

1. Dubai – The Epitome of Opulence

Ranked first with a luxury index of 75, Dubai is the pinnacle of luxury travel. Known for its ultra-luxurious resorts, high-end shopping, and world-class dining, Dubai offers a one-of-a-kind babymoon experience.

The city boasts an impressive 67 five-star hotels and 27 private resorts, giving premium comfort for travellers. Moreover, Dubai’s healthcare infrastructure is among the best in the world with 52 hospitals, making it a reassuring choice for expecting parents.

While Dubai is known for its grandeur, the city also offers peaceful experiences, such as desert safaris with luxury tents, private yacht cruises, and relaxing spa treatments in iconic resorts like the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis The Palm. Although the cost of living and hotel stays are relatively high, for many parents, the unparalleled luxury justifies the expense.

2. Maldives – A Paradise for Tranquillity and Privacy

The Maldives, which scored 68 on the luxury index, offers an idyllic escape for couples looking to unwind in a serene environment. Famous for its overwater villas, pristine beaches, and private island resorts, The Maldives boasts 46 five-star hotels and 44 private resorts, making it one of the most exclusive destinations for a babymoon.

Despite its relatively low costs, the Maldives remains a premium destination due to its high-end accommodations and world-class hospitality. Expecting parents can indulge in private butler services, floating breakfasts, and spa treatments overlooking turquoise waters.

3. Bali – A Blissful Escape With Affordable Luxury

Bali ranks third with a luxury index of 62, combining affordability with high-end experiences. With 50 five-star hotels and 36 private resorts, Bali offers a unique blend of culture, comfort, and wellness. The island is famous for its lush retreats in Ubud, private beachfront resorts in Seminyak, and rejuvenating spa experiences.

What makes Bali stand out is its cost-effectiveness. It offers five-star experiences at a fraction of the cost of destinations like London or Paris. Bali’s hotel price index score (0.17 compared to London’s 0.49 and Paris’ 1.00) makes it one of the most affordable luxury destinations. Bali is perfect for expecting parents looking for a stress-free, luxury getaway without overspending.

Annalisa Thomas, founder of Oilo Studio, commented “Luxury travel for expecting parents isn’t just about indulgence—it’s about comfort, safety, and stress-free experiences. Dubai, the Maldives, and Bali offer premium relaxation with a strong focus on wellness, making them ideal choices for a babymoon. Expecting parents want destinations that provide both pampering and security, and these locations offer exactly that.”

Top Countries Most Interested In Babymoons

1. United States – The Leader In Babymoon Searches

With a huge 38,620 monthly searches putting it well in front of every other country, the U.S. tops the list for babymoon interest. American couples often look for luxurious yet comfortable getaways, and the country’s strong travel culture, coupled with high disposable income, fuels this growing trend.

2. India – Rising Demand For High-End Getaways

India ranks second with 7,650 searches, showcasing a growing interest in international luxury travel. As disposable incomes in the country rise and more couples embrace Western travel trends, destinations like Dubai and Bali will likely become top choices for Indian travellers. Additionally, the cultural significance of relaxation and wellness, particularly Ayurveda and spa retreats, makes this trend appealing.

3. United Kingdom – Classic Travel Enthusiasts

The U.K. comes in third with 6,350 searches, reflecting the nation’s strong enthusiasm for travel. British couples often seek warm, exotic locations, making the Maldives and Crete highly attractive choices. The U.K.’s proximity to luxurious European destinations also plays a role in the high level of interest in travel.

Annalisa Thomas, founder of Oilo Studio, commented “Search trends show that the demand for babymoon travel is not just a passing trend but a growing global phenomenon. The U.S., India, and the U.K. lead the way due to rising disposable incomes and the increasing emphasis on wellness-focused vacations. As more couples seek stress-free getaways before parenthood, luxury destinations are catering to this niche with tailored experiences.”
